Ramayan’s Lakshman, Sunil Lahri, has recently voiced his criticism of the cringe-worthy dialogues in Prabhas’ highly anticipated film, Adipurush. The movie, starring Prabhas and Kirti Sanon, has faced severe backlash from audiences who have expressed their disappointment with the use of what they consider to be ‘tapori’ language by director Om Raut and writer Manoj Muntashir. Sunil Lahri, known for his iconic portrayal of Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana alongside Arun Govil as Lord Ram and Dipika Chikhlia as Sita, is the latest figure to join the chorus of disapproval.

Sunil Lahri’s post prompted various reactions from his followers. One user commented, “Sab Islamic log hai ye Bollywood wale sanatan ko halala ki paidaish hai” (These Bollywood personalities are all Islamic people who are defiling the Sanatan culture). Another individual expressed, “Ramanand Sagar jaisa na kabhi banega na kabhi bana hai jai shree ram” (No one can ever replicate or match Ramanand Sagar, Hail Lord Ram). A third user added, “#boycottadipurush… aap bilkul sahi ho sir…astha ka majak bana rakha hai…jai shree ram” (You are absolutely right, sir…they have turned faith into a joke…hail Lord Ram).

In response to the criticism, Adipurush writer Manoj Muntashir defended the dialogues, stating, “A very meticulous thought process has gone into writing the dialogues for Bajrangbali (Lord Hanuman). We have made it simple because we have to understand one thing – if there are multiple characters in a film, all of them can’t speak the same language. There has to be a kind of diversion, a division.”

The controversy surrounding the cringe-worthy dialogues in Adipurush has sparked intense discussions among fans and critics alike. As the film continues to face criticism, it remains to be seen how the makers will address these concerns and whether any changes will be made before its release.
