Gangster Sanjeev Maheshwari, known by his alias Jeeva, was tragically shot dead on Wednesday within the premises of the Lucknow court in Uttar Pradesh. This shocking incident unfolded when a group of assailants, disguised as lawyers, opened fire on Jeeva during a hearing. The gunfire not only claimed the life of the notorious gangster but also left a police officer injured. Chaos ensued as the police swiftly responded to the incident, leading to a confrontation with angry lawyers who hurled stones at them.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sunil Kumar Mishra, reported that the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West and DCP Central promptly arrived at the court premises upon receiving news of the shooting. In the immediate aftermath of the shootout, tensions escalated as lawyers expressed their outrage towards the police. This unfortunate turn of events overshadowed the initial focus on the criminal act that had just transpired.

Details surrounding the incident are still emerging, but preliminary reports suggest that the assailants carefully disguised themselves as lawyers before infiltrating the court. With Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva as their target, they unleashed a hail of bullets upon him, fatally injuring him at the scene. The attackers managed to escape before law enforcement could apprehend them. Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva was not only a gangster but also a feared shooter, with numerous criminal cases pending against him.

Outside the court premises, the aftermath of the shooting was captured in chaotic visuals, showing crowds gathering and the general atmosphere of confusion. To maintain order and prevent further disturbances, a heavy police presence was deployed in and around the Lucknow court following the incident.

Born in western Uttar Pradesh, Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva had a notorious criminal record. He first came into the spotlight when he was arrested in 2006 for his alleged involvement in the murders of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and former UP minister Brahmadutt Dwivedi. Initially working as a compounder, Jeeva eventually became a prominent figure within the criminal underworld. Notably, he was closely associated with Munna Bajrangi, another high-profile gangster who was himself shot dead in 2018 while in custody at Baghpat jail.

The shocking killing of Gangster Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva has once again highlighted the persistent challenges posed by organized crime in India. It underscores the need for robust law enforcement efforts and measures to tackle criminal networks effectively. The incident also raises concerns about security within court premises, prompting a call for stricter measures to prevent such acts of violence in the future.
