Actor Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, known for her role as Rosesh’s love interest in the second season of the popular television comedy Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, tragically passed away in a road accident on Tuesday.
The news of Vaibhavi’s untimely demise was shared by JD Majethia, the creator of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and a TV producer. Taking to Twitter, he expressed his shock and sorrow, stating, “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as Jasmine of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away. She met with an accident in the north. Family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites. RIP Vaibhavi.”
According to a report in the Times of India, the accident occurred while Vaibhavi was traveling with her fiancé in Himachal Pradesh, and their car lost control at a steep turn. Upon hearing the news, the actor’s brother immediately rushed to Himachal Pradesh.

Actor-director Deven Bhojani also expressed his shock and grief over Vaibhavi’s passing. He shared her photo on social media and wrote, “Shocking! A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as ‘Jasmine’ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away. She met with an accident in the north a few hours back. Rest in peace Vaibhavi #SarabhaiVsSarabhai #Hatsoff @sats45 @TheRupali.”
Rupali Ganguly, who portrayed the character of Monisha in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, responded to Bhojani’s tweet expressing her disbelief, saying, “This is not fair… gone too soon…” She also shared her sentiments on Instagram, stating, “Can’t believe this.”

Apart from Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Vaibhavi had worked with actor Ayush Mehra in the web series Please Find Attached, the TV show Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka, and the movie Chhapaak. Her last Instagram post was from a mountain trip she took in 2019.
