Cuttack, Odisha -The toll in the devastating triple train crash at Odisha’s Bahanaga Bazar station has tragically climbed to 292, as another injured passenger succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The incident, which occurred on June 2, claimed the lives of 288 people and left over 1100 injured.
latest victim is a resident of South 24 Parganas
The latest victim has been identified as Paltu Naskar, a resident of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal. Paltu had been receiving treatment at the Central ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital, where he fought bravely but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Paltu was one of the critically injured passengers brought to SCBMCH following the horrific accident. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, his condition remained critical, leading to his untimely demise on Sunday.
With this tragic development, the number of deaths of injured passengers at SCBMCH has now reached four. Previously, three injured passengers from Bihar had also lost their lives while undergoing treatment.
45 injured passengers of the triple Train crash are still getting treatment
Currently, 45 injured passengers from the train crash continue to receive treatment at SCBMCH. Medical teams are working tirelessly to provide the best possible care and support to those affected by the tragic incident.
The triple train crash involved the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express from Shalimar, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, and a stationary goods train. The collision resulted in a catastrophic loss of lives and left many injured. Authorities and investigators are diligently working to determine the cause of the accident and take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
